Armenian drivers again protest against car insurance premiums rise
A group of drivers on Thursday gathered outside the Central Bank of Armenia to again raise their voice against the expected increase in car insurance premiums.
They hold the Central Bank responsible for the insurance costs rise, stating it has allowed the Insurance Bureau to make arbitrary decisions.
One of the protesting drivers says the insurance companies are not to blame so much, since they have piled up depts.
The rise in car insurance costs will take effect in Armenia on Monday, February 7.
“If no action is taken before Monday, we will take appropriate measures against the Insurance Bureau,” he said.
The protesters do not expect any Central Bank employee to come out and meet them.
"They know about the protest and are aware of our demands. We will give them some time to think," the driver said.
