Armenian MP: Russia doesn't want war with Ukraine and its unconditional surrender
Armenian security expert and opposition With Honor faction MP Tigran Abrahamyan reacted to escalating tensions between Ukraine and Russia, saying Russia does not want war with Ukraine and the latter’s unconditional surrender.
"No matter how much weaponry is supplied to Ukraine, the accumulated weapons and ammunition will not help solve a serious problem in the event of a possible war,” he wrote on Facebook on Sunday.
Abrahamyan believes Russia will not launch military action unless Ukraine takes steps in that regard, because Moscow's objective is not to start a war and achieve unconditional surrender of Ukraine.
“Russia simply wants to keep NATO away from its borders and prevent the formation of hotbeds of instability in its neighborhood through the intervention of external forces. Russia will resort to the toughest measures possible to prevent it,” the deputy stated.
“Despite unprecedented mobilization and replenishment, the Ukrainian army will still not be able to confront the Russian military.
“I believe Ukraine is aware of this simple truth, and Kiev will do everything in its power not to engage in a war with Russia, despite the external factors actively pushing for it.
“Time will tell whether the supporters of war or sober judgments will win,” he said.
