Specialists to conduct studies to reveal possible consequences of Sunday’s quake in Armenia
Specialists of the Seismic Protection Agency of Armenia’s Ministry of Emergency Situations will carry out macro-seismic studies in settlements of Armenia’s northern regions to determine the possible consequences of Sunday’s earthquake, the ministry said in a statement on Monday.
A magnitude 5.2 earthquake rattled Armenia late on Sunday evening. The earthquake hit 16 km north-east off the town of Bavra near the Armenian-Georgian border area at a depth of 10 km. The tremor measured 6-7 on the MSK scale at the epicenter.
The jolts were felt in Shirak, Lori, Aragatsotn Provinces, as well as in the capital of Yerevan.
