Artsakh parliament urges OSCE Minsk Group to resume negotiation process
The National Assembly of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) on Friday called on the co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group to resume the negotiation process on the conflict settlement in a statement adopted on the occasion of the Revival Day celebrated on 20 February.
The parliament draws the attention of international organizations and first of all, the Minsk Group, to the fact that the Artsakh Armenians have struggled for centuries to preserve their identity, have created material and cultural values, which are now endangered as a result of the Azerbaijani occupation of Artsakh areas.
"Our people have paid too high a price in the struggle for Artsakh's freedom and independence. The Republic of Artsakh continues to exist and struggle for its international recognition,"the statement said.
“We call on the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs to take immediate steps to resume the negotiations process on the Karabakh conflict settlement in accordance with the mandate received from the OSCE. Lasting peace and stability in the region can only be achieved through respecting the fundamental rights and freedoms of the people of the Republic of Artsakh. For this very purpose the Artsakh Armenians began their liberation struggle in 1988 and stand ready to continue it with determination to reach the ultimate goal,” it added.
