Azerbaijani forces again target civilians in Artsakh’s Taghavard
Azerbaijani forces again opened fire on the residential houses in Taghavard community of Artsakh’s Martuni region on Friday, the Artsakh Prosecutor's Office reported.
The shots were fired from the Azerbaijani positions near Taghavard at around 5pm. As a result, the exterior walls of the houses were damaged, while one of the bullets hit the window of a civilian’s home and penetrated inside.
Immediately after the incident, investigating officers headed to Taghavard, documented the aftermath of the crime and recorded the evidence.
The Prosecutor's Office reported the incident to the prosecutor of the Russian peacekeeping contingent in Artsakh.
Earlier on 11 February, Artsakh’s Human Rights Defender Gegham Stepanyan said the houses of civilians in Taghavard, as well as in Karmir Shuka community, had come under Azerbaijani gunfire.
