No Azerbaijani gasoline imported into Armenia, says SCPEC chief
The head of Armenia’s State Commission for the Protection of Economic Competition (SCPEC), Gegham Gevorgyan, on Tuesday denied reports about alleged imports of Azerbaijani gasoline into Armenia.
Responding to a question by opposition Hayastan faction MP Artsvik Minasyan at a parliament session, he said the latest deal had nothing to do with Azerbaijan's state energy company SOCAR.
"The deal has been struck with the Georgian firm Petrocas under the GULF brand," Gevorgyan said.
In his words, Armenia imports gasoline and diesel fuel mostly from Russia, Iran, and in smaller amounts from Romania and Bulgaria.
Gevorgyan noted that the control is carried out on the border in compliance with the mechanisms of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU).
