Kochubaev: Criminal case opened over ‘blind pig’ remark
Lawyer Alexander Kochubaev has provided details of a criminal probe into “serious insults” against pro-government lawmaker Vahagn Aleksanyan.
"A blind pig is the subject of a criminal case. A criminal case was instituted recently for calling Vahagn Aleksanyan, an MP from the Civil Contract faction, a ‘blind pig’,” he wrote on Facebook on Wednesday.
“The Police of Armenia held a phone call with Aleksanyan to find out whether he was offended by the “blind pig” remark, and Aleksanyan confirmed that he was offended.
“As a result, a criminal case has been opened and the legal matter about whether or not calling Aleksanyan a blind pig is insulting will be considered.
"Citizen Armen Asatryan has not yet been charged, but given who the addressee is, charges will definitely be brought [against him]," Kochubaev added.
