MP Abrahamyan: Azerbaijan's tools force us to prepare for a long struggle
Armenian MP Tigran Abrahamyan, who represents the opposition With Honor faction, on Friday reflected on Azerbaijan’s fresh provocations against Artsakh, stating the undetermined status of Nagorno-Karabakh provides fertile ground for them.
“As far as Artsakh is concerned, we have to realize an important thing. The incumbent Armenian authorities have brought the situation to a point where there will be constant hotbeds of tension around Artsakh, provocations and aggression,” he wrote on Facebook.
“The current status of Artsakh, or rather its absence, provides fertile ground for Azerbaijani provocations.
“We must be very honest with our compatriots living in Artsakh. First, they deserve it, and second, they must know the real state of affairs. Living in Armenia, especially in Artsakh, means being in a constant struggle and fighting for physical security,” the MP said.
Abrahamyan believes the Azerbaijani pressures will continue in various manifestations, while the “question is what kind of state of viability, efficiency and flexibility will be created in Artsakh and Armenia, and what problems will be solved as a result of the general confrontation and the long struggle.”
"The tools picked by Azerbaijan force us to prepare for a long struggle. If we fail to properly assess the challenge, I repeat myself, we will face an existential problem,” the deputy noted.
