Armenian FM meets with his Russian counterpart in Turkey
On the sidelines of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum in Turkey, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan on Thursday held a meeting with Foreign Minister of Russia Sergey Lavrov.
During the meeting, Ararat Mirzoyan and Sergey Lavrov touched upon the rich agenda of Armenian-Russian cooperation, discussed issues related to the further strengthening of the allied relations. The interlocutors commended the level of political dialogue between the two countries and the active high and highest level contacts, the Armenian Foreign Ministry said.
The foreign ministers of Armenia and Russia exchanged views in detail on closer cooperation and increasing efficiency in the CSTO, EEU, CIS, and other international platforms.
They touched upon the implementation process of the agreements reached through the trilateral statements of November 9, 2020, January 11, 2021 and November 26, 2021.
The full resumption of peaceful negotiations on the comprehensive and lasting settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict under the mandate of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs was emphasized.
The Armenian FM briefed his counterpart on the situation resulting from the continuous ceasefire violations and provocative actions of the Azerbaijani armed forces in Nagorno-Karabakh and on the Armenia-Azerbaijan border, emphasizing the importance of undertaking the necessary steps towards reducing tensions and preventing further incidents.
They touched upon the normalization process between Armenia and Turkey.
