MP Abrahamyan: Azerbaijan's five-point proposal to Armenia must be immediately made public
Armenian MP Tigran Abrahamyan, who represents the opposition With Honor faction, calls for an immediate disclosure of Azerbaijan's five-point proposal allegedly submitted to Armenia.
Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov announced on Frida that the country “has sent a five-point proposal to Armenia to normalize relations and is currently awaiting a response” from the Armenian leadership.
“One of them concerns the border delimitation and demarcation process, while the Azerbaijani diplomat did not provide any details about the other points,” Abrahamyan wrote on Facebook on Saturday.
The MP highlights that the Armenian authorities have not provided any information or explanations over the matter thus far.
“If the Azerbaijani foreign minister's statement on the proposal submitted to Armenia is true, the Armenian authorities' silence raises many questions,” he noted.
“To all appearances, there is or was a process going on behind the scenes between Azerbaijan and Armenia, which has left its mark on the developments in Artsakh in recent days, in particular the sharp escalation.
“The immediate disclosure of these proposals is important precisely because it will reveal a lot about the situation around Armenia and Artsakh as well as Azerbaijan's ambitions,” Abrahamyan said.
