Expert: Azerbaijan releases special tea edition with images of Sevan, Syunik and Yerevan on its packaging
An Azerbaijani tea company has released a special tea edition with images of Sevan, Syunik and Yerevan on its packages, turkologist and PhD in History Varuzhan Geghamyan said on Sunday.
"The Azerbaijani company Lankaran Tea has released a special tea edition to mark the 100th anniversary of the signing of the Kars Treaty, while its packaging depicts the sovereign territories of the Republic of Armenia, Sevan and Syunik (Goycha and Zangezur Mahals), as well as the Armenian capital of Yerevan,” he wrote on Facebook.
“There would have been no need to make a separate post about it, if Turkish Ambassador to Azerbaijan Jahit Bagci had not shared a photo of the tea packaging on his official Twitter account. In any normal state, this post would have already caused a diplomatic crisis.
“However, since the Armenian statehood has been usurped by a collaborationist political group, instead of protest there would be a joyful meeting with the Turkish side and self-indulgent propaganda of the absurd “era of peace” agenda,” he said.
