Searches for remains of war dead were unsuccessful last week, Artsakh says
Search operations for the remains of those killed in the 2020 war in Artsakh were unsuccessful last week, Artsakh’s State Service of Emergency Situations said on Monday.
The searches were carried out in the border areas under the control of the Artsakh Republic, where heavy fighting took place.
From November 13, 2020 to February 23, 2022, a total of 1,711 bodies of Armenian troops and civilians were found during searches or handed over to Artsakh by Azerbaijan as part of the body swap agreements.
The remains of 574 war victims were recovered during search operations in 2021.
