Vanetsyan: Some circles in Artsakh perplexed by Armenian authorities’ conduct
Azerbaijan is doing everything possible to evict Armenians from Artsakh, MP Artur Vanetsyan, head of the opposition With Honor faction and the Homeland Party, said in an interview to the Hraparak daily on Tuesday, summing up his latest visit to Artsakh.
The opposition lawmaker spoke to ordinary citizens in Artsakh villages and in the capital of Stepanakert as well as representatives of all political forces.
"For the first time since the war, I communicated with members of the ruling Free Homeland party, I met with the head of their parliamentary faction. Almost everyone is concerned about this situation, they realize that the steps of Azerbaijan are clearly aimed at evicting Armenians from Artsakh,” Vanetsyan said.
“In addition, some circles are perplexed by the conduct of the Armenian authorities and have said so directly. That is, we are seeing that the Armenian authorities have washed their hands off Artsakh, got rid of this "burden" and do nothing now.
“A striking example of this was Nikol Pashinyan's statement at a cabinet meeting, when he said the Artsakh authorities and international partners were working to restore the gas pipeline, expressing conviction that the issue would be resolved. Now, the question arises, does Armenia no longer have any connection with Artsakh? That is, have we lost Artsakh?" the MP said.
