Political analyst: Azerbaijan capturing Kapan-Meghri road
Azerbaijani forces have further advanced into Armenian territory, being stationed just one kilometer away from the village of Nerkin Hand, Edgar Elbakyan, a political analyst and co-founder of the Armenian Project NGO, claimed late on Monday.
“Continuing its advance on the "internationally recognized territory" of the Republic of Armenia, Azerbaijan has moved 2 more km, capturing the area near the village of Hand and the cemetery of the village of Nerkin Hand, depriving the village of drinking water. Thus, they were stationed only 1 km away from the village,” he wrote on Facebook, sharing a map of the area.
“The objective is obvious: to make use of their political advantage, i.e. the rule of the puppet government in Armenia, and, accordingly, of the zero resistance, advancing along the Tsav River flow and cutting the Srashan-Tsav road, in other words, the Kapan-Shikahogh-Shvanidzor-Meghri road,” Elbakyan noted.
