Opposition MP: Azerbaijan improving its positions on Armenian territory
Continuing its aggressive policy, Azerbaijan is improving its positions on Armenian territory, MP Tigran Abrahamyan from the opposition With Honor bloc said on Wednesday.
“For several days now, a number of our colleagues, including former Ombudsman Arman Tatoyan, political scientists Edgar Elbakyan and Alvina Aghababyan, have been sounding the alarm about the advancement of the Azerbaijani troops towards the village of Nerkin Hand in Armenia's Syunik Province," he wrote on Facebook.
“It’s about some 1 kilometer area taken control of by Azerbaijani servicemen. Incidentally, local residents have also alerted the media about it,” Abrahamyan said.
The lawmaker stated the Defense Ministry of Armenia dismissed allegations about the advancement of the Azerbaijani military without providing any serious substantiation.
The authorities, according to the oppositionist, have repeatedly made obviously false claims on various issues, which levelled down public trust in them.
"The lack of appropriate measures in the security system of the country has led to the fact that Azerbaijan, continuing its aggressive policy, is making new positional improvements, as best evidenced by the May and November 2021 invasions, as well as the latest advancement,” the MP stated.
Abrahamyan underlines the incumbent authorities have left the issue of citizens' security to fate, which will lead to “continued losses”.
