New powerful cyclone to hit Armenia
A new powerful cyclone is expected to hit Armenia in the next few hours, the Hydrometeorology and Monitoring Center reports.
Meteorologists forecast snow and snowstorm across Armenia on Friday evening and over the weekend.
Heavy snowfall is expected in mountainous areas of Aragatsotn and Vayots Dzor Provinces, mountainous areas and foothills of Syunik Province as well as Lori and Tavush Provinces. Wet snow is predicted in the Ararat Valley.
Temperatures are set to drop by 5-6 degrees across the country on Sunday.
Drivers are urged to use exclusively winter tires.
