Snow depth reaches 6 meters in some parts of Armenia's Shirak Province
Road maintenance is underway in Shirak Province of Armenia. The companies in charge continue to work in emergency mode, but there are still closed and difficult-to-pass roads in the region. In some areas the snow depth reaches up to 6 meters, the Shirak governor’s office reports.
The roads (interstate, national and provincial) of Tzoghamarg-Ashotsk, Amasia-Shagik and Artik (Mets Mantash and Geganist) district are still closed.
The rest of the roads of Ani, Akhuryan and Artik districts of Shirak are open to traffic.
Gyumri-Yerevan, Gyumri-Armavir and Gyumri-Vanadzor roads are passable.
Drivers are urged to avoid unnecessary travel.
