Five Artsakh army soldiers wounded in skirmishes with Azerbaijan
The Defense Ministry of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) said that five Armenian servicemen were injured in skirmishes with Azerbaijani forces on Thursday night.
“Five contract servicemen of the Defense Army were wounded as a result of the skirmishes provoked by Azerbaijan last night,” the ministry said in a statement on Friday.
The injuries are not life-threatening, it added.
Earlier on Friday, the Artsakh authorities said one Armenian soldier was injured after the Azerbaijani military, that breached the line of contact and took control of the village of Parukh, an area of responsibility of the Russian peacekeeping mission, attacked Artsakh military positions, also using combat drones.
“We expect the Russian peacekeepers to take measures to make the Azerbaijani troops withdraw to their initial positions,” the ministry noted.
