Talks over withdrawal of Azeri forces to their starting positions continue, Artsakh says
The situation along the Artsakh-Azerbaijan line of contact, including the eastern border area, was relatively stable overnight and on Saturday morning, the Defense Ministry of the Artsakh Republic said in a statement.
No significant ceasefire violations were reported. The Azerbaijani troops remain in the positions occupied on March 24. Negotiations on their withdrawal to their starting positions are underway, the ministry noted.
“The condition of two servicemen wounded as a result of the March 25 Azerbaijani provocation remains critical, the condition of one serviceman is moderate, while that of 12 servicemen is satisfactory,” the statement read.
Three Armenian servicemen were killed in a strike by Azerbaijani drones in Artsakh’s eastern border area on Friday. The latest escalation was triggered by the Azerbaijani invasion of the village of Parukh in the Askeran region, which is the zone of responsibility of Russian peacekeepers, and the attempts of Azerbaijani forces to advance further.
