Armenia's Gabriel Sargissian shares first place in European Chess Championship
Armenian GM Gabriel Sargissian shares the first place with German GM Matthias Bluebaum in the European Individual Chess Championship ahead of the ultimate round.
Sargissian has collected 8 points after 10 rounds, the Chess Federation of Armenia reports.
He will face Jaime Latasa Santos of Spain in the 11th round to be played on Wednesday.
Two other Armenian grandmasters, Haik Martirosyan and Samvel Ter-Sahakyan, have scored 7 points, apiece, sharing the 6th-25th spots.
The European Individual Chess Championship 2022 is being held in Terme Čatež, Slovenia from 26 March to April 6.
