Russia will continue to assist Armenia in bolstering its defense capability, Lavrov says
Russia will continue assisting Armenia in protecting its borders and bolstering its defense capability, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said while opening talks with his Armenian counterpart Ararat Mirzoyan on Friday, TASS reported.
"We will continue from the position of a key Armenian ally to help you strengthen the defense capability and ensure the border protection," Russia’s top diplomat said.
As the Russian foreign minister said, during the meeting the sides will also touch upon the prospects of interaction within the CIS, the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO).
"Now Armenia is presiding over the CSTO and that is why it is all the more so important for us to compare our actions with the plans that Armenia presented to the participants in this organization," Lavrov stressed.
