Pashinyan, Putin hold phone call
Nikol Pashinyan on Saturday held a telephone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin, the Armenian government's press office reported.
Pashinyan informed the Russian leader about the results of the April 6 meeting with President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev mediated by President of the European Council Charles Michel.
The interlocutors attached importance to the agreements on signing a peace treaty with Azerbaijan and launching delimitation works. The Russian president expressed readiness to fully support these processes.
Reference was made to the intrusion of the Azerbaijani army units into the area of responsibility of the Russian peacekeeping contingent in Nagorno Karabakh. Pashinyan expressed the expectation of the Armenian side that the Russian peacekeepers take concrete measures to ensure the withdrawal of the invading Azerbaijani troops.
The Armenian and Russian leaders touched upon the issues of economic cooperation between the two countries and agreed that these issues will be discussed in detail during Nikol Pashinyan's official visit to Russia on April 19.
