Opposition MP: Power change in Armenia can lead to 'major changes' in Artsakh
Armenian MP Tigran Abrahamyan from the opposition With Honor (Pativ Unem) faction stresses the need for serious structural and substantive changes in Artsakh's state administration system.
“The thinking and approaches of the post-war period do not correspond to the imminent threats that are growing with each passing day. The main political forces of Artsakh, public groups and active players need a restart," the lawmaker wrote on Facebook on Monday.
He states that regardless of the policy pursued by the Armenian authorities, Artsakh has the necessary resources for serious changes. At the same time, Abrahamyan believes the matter does not concern personnel changes, which are also important, but a serious review of public life and the urgent tasks envisaged by the state budget programs.
"The decision makers in Artsakh must clearly define where they are heading to, along which path they are moving and by what means. Artsakh should clearly outline its expectations from the Armenian authorities, our compatriots living in Armenia and the Diaspora,” Abrahamyan said.
“I also believe that major changes can happen in Artsakh if there is a change of power in the Republic of Armenia. However, as a person who has a rather deep understanding of the situation in Artsakh, I cannot but notice that there is a serious resource in Artsakh, the proper mobilization and use of which would help improve the security environment and ensure normal life in Artsakh,” he noted.
