Parents of fallen soldier Karen Mirzoyan welcome baby boy
The parents of Karen Mirzoyan, an Armenian soldier who fell defending Artsakh in the 44-day war, have welcomed a baby boy.
The baby was born on 10 April and was named Karen in honor of his brother, their sister, Alisa Mirzoyan, said on Facebook.
Karen joined the Artsakh army in 2019, serving in a Stepanakert military unit. During the war in 2020, he was severely wounded in Shushi but continued fighting. Being encircled by Azerbaijani forces and getting no help from their commander, Karen and his fellow soldier Narek killed themselves so as not to be captured or killed by the enemy.
