Two quakes hit northern Armenia
The Territorial Survey for Seismic Protection of Armenia’s Ministry of Emergency Situations detected two earthquakes in Armenia’s northern Shirak Province early on Thursday morning.
The quakes measuring 3.7 and 2.8 magnitude struck 15 km and 14 km northeast of the village of Bavra near the Armenian-Georgian border at a depth of 10 km.
The jolts were felt in the villages of Bavra, Saragyugh, Ghazanchi, Ashotsk, Tavshut (Shirak Province), Metsavan, Sarchapet and Paghaghbyur (Lori Province) as well as the town of Tashir.
