Armenian FM meets with US co-chair of OSCE Minsk Group
Armenia’s Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan on Monday met with Andrew Schofer, the U.S. Co-Chair of the OSCE Minsk Group, the Foreign Ministry said in a press release.
The sides exchanged views on the start of negotiations between Armenia and Azerbaijan on the comprehensive peace treaty. In this regard, the Armenian FM highlighted the mediation role of the Minsk Group co-chairs.
The implementation of agreements on the establishment of a commission on border delimitation and security issues was underscored.
Ararat Mirzoyan briefed the U.S. diplomat on the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh (Artsakh). They discussed in detail the humanitarian problems caused by the 44-day war, in particular, those related to the immediate return of Armenian (prisoners of war) POWs and other detainees, as well as the preservation of Armenian cultural and religious heritage in the territories taken over by the Azerbaijani military.
