Artsakh slams 'destructive' decision to hold Azerbaijani congress in Shushi
The Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) Foreign Ministry on Friday denounced the decision to hold the “Fifth Congress of World Azerbaijanis” in the occupied town of Shushi.
“The Foreign Ministry of the Artsakh Republic considers extremely destructive the initiative to hold the “5th Congress of World Azerbaijanis" in the Armenian town of Shushi occupied by Azerbaijan, which includes obvious elements of Armenophobia and expansionism,” the ministry said in a statement.
“Such an "initiative" is also an attempt to escalate tensions in the region. The Foreign Ministry of Artsakh strongly condemns the nationalist and aggressive policy of official Baku, which aims to torpedo and disrupt the peaceful settlement process of the Azerbaijani-Karabakh conflict,” it added.
