Armenian opposition starts march from Ijevan to Yerevan
Ishkhan Saghatelyan, a deputy speaker of the Armenian parliament from the opposition Hayastan alliance, announced the start of a march from Ijevan, a town in Armenia’s Tavush Province, to Yerevan on Monday morning.
“The dignified citizens of Armenia will start marching from Ijevan to Yerevan at 11am,” he wrote on Facebook.
The opposition MP also unveiled plans to hold similar marches from other regions of Armenia in the near future.
“A few days later, we will welcome our compatriots arriving in Yerevan from different parts at the heart of the capital,” Saghatelyan said.
In the meantime, daily awareness marches will be held in Yerevan, he said.
Earlier last week, Saghatelyan announced the start of fresh street protests starting from 25 April to topple Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and his cabinet in a bid to “save Artsakh and Armenia”.
