Armenia lifts some Covid restrictions
A total of 144 new Covid-19 cases were recorded in Armenia over the past 14 days, which is 32% less compared to the same period last year. Only 3 cases were confirmed in the past 24 hours, Minister of Health Anahit Avanesyan told a cabinet meeting on Thursday.
She highlighted that the Covid death rate also dropped in the recent month, with only one death recorded in the past two weeks.
The requirement to submit a PCR test or a vaccination certificate when entering the country through land border and checkpoints in airports will be removed from May 1, the minster says.
Also, the restrictions in penitentiaries and the military on visits and holiday leaves have been lifted. In those cases, it will no longer be necessary to take a Covid test or show proof of vaccination.
The ban on keeping a 1.5-meter distance during events in schools, kindergartens and other places as well as the requirement for employees to present a PCR test or a vaccination certificate every 7 days have also been removed, Avanesyan added.
