Oppositionist: Pashinyan's regime has started final act of surrendering homeland
Yerevan’s Liberty Square has essentially become the heart of the liberation movement, Armen Ashotyan, the deputy chair of the opposition Republican Party of Armenia (RPA), said in a live broadcast by the Hayeli Club on Thursday.
He highlights that various events are taking place in the square, adding the decentralized campaign launched by the opposition is yielding results with protests and acts of civil disobedience being held in Yerevan and various parts of Armenia.
According to Ashotyan, the number of participants is increasing day by day. In the meantime, he said it is not an opposition movement, but rather the people's “liberation movement”.
“When the opposition organizes a particular action, it does not mean that the opposition is solely responsible for the event," he said, urging everyone to join the movement, regardless of their political views and differences.
Ashotyan states that Artsakh and Armenia are living through “crucial times”.
"The current regime, led by Nikol [Pashinyan], has begun the final act of surrendering the homeland – the Republic of Armenia and Artsakh – which are now in danger. We must join forces to prevent the surrender of the homeland and its Turkification, to stop Nikol and the betrayal,” he said.
