Opposition leader Artur Vanetsyan on Tuesday shared a video from Yerevan’s France Square where a round-the-clock opposition protest is being held.

Armenia’s opposition groups began a mass civil disobedience campaign on Monday morning in a bid to oust Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and his cabinet, blocking streets and street intersections in central Yerevan.

Protesters also blocked a number of highways in Armenian regions, including in Ararat, Vayots Dzor, and Lori Provinces, as part of the opposition campaign on Tuesday.

"Today we visited Yerevan State University and saw that almost all classrooms were empty. Students have joined the boycott of classes, the nationwide struggle," Vanetsyan said in a Facebook live.

He highlighted that the popular support for the protest movement was growing.

“The police are trying to stop our struggle by using brute force, but they won't succeed. We are strong together and we will definitely win," the opposition leader said, adding there are no leaders on France Square, but Armenians who love their homeland.

Vanetsyan, who leads the opposition Homeland Party, urged all to come to France Square at 7pm for a new rally.

"Our struggle is unstoppable. In a short time, we will liberate our country and will build a homeland of our dreams,” he said.
