Opposition leader: Marches being held in 10 areas in Yerevan
The Armenian opposition continues peaceful protests, demanding that Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and his team step down.
A group of demonstrators, led by ARF Armenia Chairman Ishkhan Saghatelyan, on Wednesday marched along Mashtots Avenue in downtown Yerevan.
"Since Wednesday morning, our compatriots have started acts of civil disobedience across the capital. At the moment, such marches are being held in around 10 areas," Saghatelyan told reporters.
He expressed confidence that Pashinyan and his team, who “are leading the country to the loss of statehood”, would eventually be ousted amid mounting public pressure.
"With their removal, Artsakh will never be a part of Azerbaijan, there will be no Turkification of Armenia," Saghatelyan stressed.
The opposition will hold another rally in Yerevan’s France Square at 3:30pm today.
"We will lay out our public demand at the rally, demanding the resignation of the current authorities,” he said.
