Opposition protesters block key street in central Yerevan
A group of opposition activists blocked Baghramyan Avenue in central Yerevan on Wednesday morning as part of a large-scale campaign of civil disobedience launched on Monday to oust Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and his team.
The demonstrators blocked the key street by erecting barricades from garbage cans there, chanting “Nikol the traitor!” and "Armenia without Nikol!".
A large number of police officers deployed eventually removed the activists from the avenue and restored traffic there.
Opposition protesters demanding Pashinyan’s resignation also blocked other major roads and bridges in the capital in the morning.
