Mississippi becomes 50th US state to recognize Armenian Genocide
Mississippi has become the 50th U.S. state to recognize the Armenian Genocide, with Governor Tate Reeves’ proclamation marking April as Genocide Awareness and Prevention Month, reported the Armenian National Committee of America (ANCA).
"The systematic destruction of lives has spanned areas and cultures from Armenia to Darfur, the Holodomor to the Holocaust," Reeves tweeted.
"Genocide has no place in society, and we must do everything we can to prevent it,” he said.
The Armenian Genocide has now been recognized by all 50 U.S. states, the two chambers of the Congress and President Joe Biden.
