Vanetsyan-led protesters march in central Yerevan
Opposition protests aimed at forcing Nikol Pashinyan to resign as Armenian prime minister resumed in Yerevan on Friday.
Groups of protesters began marching along four key streets from France Square in central Yerevan at 12pm.
Demonstrators led by Artur Vanetsyan, head of the opposition Homeland Party and With Honor (Pativ Unem) parliamentary faction, started the march along Sayat-Nova Avenue amid the sounds of "Artsakh”, an instrumental composition by Ara Gevorgyan.
They were chanting "Armenians, stand up!" and "Armenia without Nikol!", with the passing cars honking their horns in support of the campaign for the security of Armenia and Artsakh.
The residents of nearby houses also greeted the protesters from their balconies and windows and were greeted back with applause.
