ARF Armenia leader: Azeri foreign minister echoes Armenian authorities' statements
Opposition protesters demanding that Nikol Pashinyan step down as Armenian prime minister started marches from four districts of the capital Yerevan on Tuesday afternoon.
During a march from Gai Avenue in Nor Nork district, ARF Armenia leader Ishkhan Saghatelyan, who is also a deputy parliament speaker, reacted to Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov’s remarks about opposition protests, saying that he echoed the statements of Armenian’s ruling Civil Contract party members.
Earlier on Tuesday, Bayramov claimed that the number of opposition demonstrators in Armenia “does not exceed 6,000”, adding the Karabakh issue is closed and the fight for Artsakh's security is a “false agenda”.
"The Azerbaijani foreign minister echoed the statements made by Nikol [Pashinyan], Ando [Andranik] Kocharyan, Vahagn Aleksanyan, Arsen Torosyan and other Civil Contract deputies,” Saghatelyan said.
“It seems to me that the statements of the Azeris and the Civil Contract members are written in the same place. We will prove to both Azerbaijan and Armenia’s internal enemies that we are the masters of our country and the current authorities do not have a mandate to lead the country to new concessions. Accordingly, our struggle is for Artsakh, Armenia, our homeland and future. Therefore, we cannot step back or get tired," he added.
