'Change of power is inevitable': Opposition protesters start march in Yerevan
Protesters demanding the resignation of Nikol Pashinyan as Armenian prime minister and concerned about the security of Armenia and Artsakh started a march from David of Sassoun (Sasuntsi Davit) Statue in Yerevan’s Erebuni district on Tuesday afternoon.
Members of the former ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) also joined the march.
The protesters were urged not to succumb to any provocations by the authorities and continue the march.
“They are frightened because a change of power is inevitable in Armenia," organizers said, to which the protesters began chanting "Armenia without Nikol!".
Addressing a rally on Monday evening, opposition leader Ishkhan Saghatelyan said marches would begin from four Yerevan districts on Tuesday, at 12pm, to culminate in another big rally in central France Square in the evening.
