Armenian military denies shelling Azerbaijani positions
The Defense Ministry of Armenia denies reports that Armenian forces allegedly fired across the border at Azerbaijani combat positions last night.
“The statement of the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry that the Armenian army units shelled Azerbaijani military positions deployed in the eastern section of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border using firearms of various calibers on the night of 17-18 May is false,” the ministry said in a statement.
The situation on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border is relatively stable and is fully controlled by the Armenian military, it added.
