Artur Vanetsyan: Peaceful acts of disobedience continue
Peaceful protests continue in Yerevan despite the use of excessive force by the Armenian police against opposition demonstrators, opposition leader Artur Vanetsyan, the head of the Homeland Party, said in a video on Facebook on Wednesday.
"Dignified citizens started acts of civil disobedience this morning. The police used more brute force today, but it has not frightened anyone. On the contrary, we have become stronger," Vanetsyan said as he joined protesters in Yerevan’s France Square.
He said the opposition would continue peaceful protests across Yerevan, urging people to join them.
“Everyone's participation is essential. I'm also addressing our friends at the police stations: I know you are looking forward to rejoining us. Stay strong! Everything will be fine,” Vanetsyan noted.
