Father of Armenian fallen soldier Mkhitar Galeyan arrested
Garik Galeyan, the father of Armenian soldier Mkhitar Galeyan killed in the 44-day war in Artsakh, has been arrested.
Speaking to 168.am, the fallen soldier’s mother, Astghik Galeyan, said her husband was taken by the military police early on Wednesday morning.
"The military police came to our house at 7:45am. They took him away very calmly, without using brute force. Now he is in the military police department on Admiral Isakov Avenue,” the woman said.
She has not yet been informed of the reasons for her husband’s arrest.
Opposition Hayastan faction MP Artur Ghazinyan took to Facebook to denounce Mkhitar Galeyan’s arrest.
“In recent months, he has been actively fighting to get those responsible for his son's death arrested. He personally blames Nikol Pashinian for his son's death,” the deputy wrote, adding the incumbent authorities are “capable of any meanness”.
