Opposition MP: Peace treaty to be finalized at Pashinyan-Aliyev meeting in Brussels
The peace treaty between Armenia and Azerbaijan will be finalized at the upcoming meeting of Nikol Pashinyan and Ilham Aliyev, Artur Ghazinyan, an MP from the opposition Hayastan bloc, said on Saturday, citing “reliable sources”.
The two leaders are expected to hold a meeting in Brussels on Sunday.
"The essential terms of the treaty are as follows:
1. The two sides recognize each other's territorial integrity.
2. Artsakh gets cultural autonomy as part of Azerbaijan.
3. Armenia provides a corridor connecting the western parts of Azerbaijan with Nakhichevan, which should have the same status as the corridor linking Artsakh with Armenia.
4. Armenia should have a military with limited personnel and weapons formed on a contractual basis.
5. Armenia and Azerbaijan guarantee the safety of mutual investments.
6. The unblocking of communications should be carried out in stages. The communications of the southern regions will be unblocked first.
7. The border demarcation and delimitation process is to be carried out on the basis of the borders existing as of 1991,” the lawmaker wrote on Facebook.
“Here is the unconditional capitulation of Armenia and Artsakh under the guise of the so-called era of peace,” he said.
