RPA deputy head responds to US envoy's remarks
Deputy Chairman of the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) Armen Ashotyan has responded to Friday’s statement of U.S. Ambassador to Armenia Lynne Tracy concerning the Armenian government.
“I will say for the United States that we have found a good partner with this government as a partner on the reform agenda and democratic activities,” the envoy said, addressing a democracy forum in Yerevan on Friday.
“The honorable ambassador was so moved by the overdose of "democracy" in Armenia that she began to falter,” Ashotyan wrote on Facebook.
“Madam Ambassador, I would like to correct your statement. The U.S. should have found a good partner with the Republic of Armenia, not with the Armenian government. Can you feel the difference?" he said.
