Artur Vanetsyan's aide detained for questioning
Law enforcement officers have detained Aram Grigoryan, an aide to opposition Homeland Party leader Artur Vanetsyan, for questioning, after raiding his home earlier on Saturday, the party spokesman, Sos Hakobyan, said.
He is suspected of allegedly paying people to participate in ongoing anti-government protests in Yerevan, Grigoryan's lawyer Yervand Varosyan said. However, no evidence was found during the search of his house.
The lawyer says that the criminal case has most likely been initiated on the basis of a video, in which Grigoryan is giving money to the homeless. According to him, it was made back in winter.
“Nothing illegal has been found, but Aram Grigoryan is being taken to the Yerevan Investigation Department for questioning,” Hakobyan wrote on Facebook.
