Levon Kocharyan: Fate of our homeland is at stake here
The son of Armenia’s second President Robert Kocharyan, Levon Kocharyan, who is among the participants in daily opposition protests in Yerevan, claims the popular support for the protest campaign is growing.
Speaking to reporters after a demonstration near the presidential palace in Yerevan on Wednesday, he commented on the statements of the ruling Civil Contract party members that the number of opposition protesters is small.
"Naturally, the authorities are trying to convince their supporters and teammates that there is no reason to worry. But, they are evidently seriously concerned, because they see that the number of participants is growing with each passing day. The people who have stood up to fight for the homeland are also more determined now,” the protester said.
He urged people to put aside their political differences and join the struggle.
“These protests are not about supporting an individual or a political force. The fate of our homeland is at stake here, and it is around this idea that we should rally. Secondary issues are solvable, but we can't make up for the loss of our homeland," Kocharyan stressed.
