Opposition deputies head to Armenian parliament
Opposition lawmakers headed to the Armenian National Assembly in downtown Yerevan, where an extraordinary session is scheduled at 4pm.
The opposition Hayastan and Pativ Unem factions drafted last week a resolution rejecting any peace deal that would make Artsakh a part of Azerbaijan and called a special parliament session on Friday afternoon to debate it. However, the ruling Civil Contract party has unveiled plans to boycott the session.
MP Kristine Vardanyan said in a live video on Facebook that they would be in the parliament despite the announced boycott to “defend an agenda that opposes the removal of red lines.”
She urged opposition supporters to gather in France Square “to defend the red lines that unite us all.”
