Yerevan court upholds producer Armen Grigoryan's arrest
The Yerevan Court of Appeals on Monday upheld a lower court decision to arrest producer Armen Grigoryan, rejecting a defense appeal.
“The decision was predictable given the political overtones of the criminal prosecution and bias against Armen Grigoryan,” human rights activist Ruben Melikyan wrote on Facebook.
Melikyan said he would make further comments after getting fully acquainted with the court ruling.
Grigoryan was arrested in May on charges of “humiliating national dignity” of the residents of Shirak and Ararat Provinces and questioning their national identity in various interviews.
