Armenia's NSS reveals another high treason case
Armenia’s National Security Service (NSS) has uncovered another high treason case involving an army officer.
The serviceman, whose identity is not disclosed, was recruited by foreign intelligence services through Russian social network Odnoklassniki, the NSS said in a statement on Tuesday.
He was promised 2,000,000 drams (approx. $4,800) in return for transferring military secrets to them, including data on the military personnel, armament and equipment of his unit as well as the deployment of a number of other military units via WhatsApp.
The officer has been charged with high treason and arrested. He has confessed to the crime.
