No breakthrough in Armenian-Turkish normalization, special envoy says
There is no breakthrough in the Armenian-Turkish normalization process, Rubin Rubinyan, a deputy parliament speaker and Armenia’s special envoy for normalization talks, told reporters on Thursday.
“Armenia has taken a constructive stance since the launch of the Armenian-Turkish normalization process. Armenia has demonstrated a political will to reach a solution as soon as possible,” the lawmaker said.
He claims the success of the process depends on Turkey's political will.
“As you can see, there has not been much progress to date,” Rubinyan said.
He reiterated that the delimitation of the Armenian-Turkish border is not on the agenda of the talks.
The Armenian and Turkish special representatives are set to meet in Vienna on Friday for a fresh round of talks.
