Missing Armenian soldier's family welcomes baby boy
The family of Armenian soldier Pap Ayvazyan, who went missing during the 2020 war in Artsakh, has welcomed a baby boy.
The baby, named Pap after his hero brother, was born at Erebuni Medical Center in Yerevan on Tuesday, his father Garik Ayvazyan said on Facebook.
Pap, who was drafted into the army in 2019, was expected to return home on December 19, 2021.
Garik Ayvazyan, who has been bound to a wheelchair for 20 years now following a road accident, has given up hope of finding his son alive.
The soldier was said to have suffered a head injury in the Mataghis-Talish area shortly after the start of the 44-day war. His fellow soldiers removed him from the combat positions, but no one knows what happened to him.
