No monkeypox cases recorded in Armenia, minister says
No cases of monkeypox have been confirmed in Armenia to date, Minister of Health Anahit Avanesyan told reporters after a cabinet meeting on Thursday.
As reported earlier, Russia donated monkeypox test kits to Armenia and a number of other CIS countries to help them quickly identify the infection.
“We have received monkeypox test kits from the Russian Federation and are using them in all suspected cases,” the minister said.
She states all tests have produced negative results thus far.
“No monkeypox cases have been reported in Armenia,” Avanesyan assured.
The Covid-19 vaccination rate remains unchanged at 46%. Meanwhile, the number of people getting booster shots has increased in the country as it is mandatory for travel, she said.
